The beginning is not so hard for me, but it’s the maintaining process till the end that scares me. It’s the same concept as faith without works is dead. Faith is the easy part, the beginning of things and the end is the work, which is the evidence of your faith. I can tell you that I am a Christian, but if my life style continue to say otherwise, you would have a hard time trusting my conversion.
There are two type of Christian; milk and solid food. Not what you expected, huh, but that’s how Peter refer to those who are at the elementary teaching of Jesus and the ones who are beyond the basic teaching of the faith. The principles of elementary doctrine is repentance, faith, salvation, and baptisms. Which are the basic knowledge of becoming a believer. Now once you are firm in your foundation, scripture encourage you to go beyond those things. In other word, putting away your fleshly desire for you have tasted and see that the Lord is Good.
The first sign of a solid food Christian is, they are not seeking after the flesh and no longer have a carnal mindset. They are overcoming sin, mortifying their flesh, and presenting their body as living sacrifice to God. That doesn’t mean they won’t fall, but instead pushing forward because they are still running the race set before them. Solid food Christian will also become teachers of the faith, and helping new believers to understand the word.
I can’t tell you where you stand as a believer, only you can answer that. You can pretend to be somewhere you’re not or you can work on where you are. So ask yourself today, am I on spiritual milk or on solid food. Don’t forget to leave your thoughts and share this blog. Stay Bless 😊
